Do I Need a Permit to Build a Fence in Woodstock, GA?

The City of Woodstock does not require a permit to build a fence on your property. However, you must adhere to Cherokee County's requirements and restrictions when installing a fence.

For example, you cannot install a fence in a public right-of-way. If a fence is within the required residential district setback but adjacent to a public road right-of-way, it cannot exceed six feet in height.

Additionally, pools require fencing enclosures in Woodstock. The enclosure must be chain link, aluminum, or of material and colors compatible with the main dwelling.

Pool enclosures also have to prevent entry except for a gate. That gate must be a minimum of five feet in height. Children should not be able to reach the latches.
